Weekly roundup of Muse news
One short email per week with new skills, use cases and MCP servers. No spam.
15 Oct: Muse Spark Open (816B) — Meta dropped an open-weights frontier agent model (Hugging Face / SageMaker). 816B MoE (~42B active parameters per token, 256 experts), 1M context window, multimodal inputs (text, image, video, audio), tuned for full-repo coding and multi-step tool execution. Optimized to run locally on dual Apple M5 Ultra Mac Studios and NVIDIA Blackwell.
13–19 Oct: Field notes & rollouts — Wonder remains API + Muse Code only (consumer app rollout pending; no new date from Wang’s lab note). Retail connectors (Walmart, Sephora, Shop Pay, PayPal, Expedia, Instacart) still announced / not live. New field notes: blue-collar job hunt to offer in 72 hours (@Tanner_Invests), recovering $350/mo accidental subscription (@Bunmz_A), and full Guatemala trip handoff (@heywayfinder).
12 Oct: Muse Wonder + Wonder Full — Meta's new frontier models for long agent work. Active Memory carries what matters across sessions; Active Focus tries alternate approaches when stuck and checks in before anything important. Live today in the Meta Model API + Muse Code (Full is Code-subscriber-only, ~$4/$20 per 1M tokens via API); consumer Muse gets it soon, subscribers first. Research blog / TechCrunch.
07–12 Oct: iPad app + Home Link claims — Muse is now native on iPad (app v10.0, 7 Oct; fourth client after iOS/Android/Mac, still US + Canada only). Home Link claim page is live at gadgets.muse.ai/home-link: free USB-C ESP32-C5 gadget for US subscribers (one per account), ships October first-come — claiming holds your place, it is not an order. Demo: 3-min e-ink daily view on the Gadgets SDK.
10–12 Oct: New use cases — Audi dealer sweep for a Q9 test drive, phishing takedown from inbox headers, evening reads that learn from one emoji. No connector status changes: Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Wayfair, Shop Pay, PayPal, Expedia, Instacart, GitHub still announced/uneven; Amazon still blocked; glasses, Charm, Muse email, realtime avatar — no new dates.
06 Oct: Muse Gadgets (open-source) + Home Link — build your own Muse hardware: ESP32 firmware + Raspberry Pi SDK at gadgets.muse.ai (proceed at your own risk). Example builds: color e-ink reminders, HDMI stick, DIY Charm. Meta's own Home Link (USB-C, lights/TV/printer via community skills) — 5,000 free for subscribers, waitlist open, ships this month. Verge / TechCrunch.
06 Oct: Small Business connectors now live — Box and Shopify flipped from coming-soon to live, plus 11 new rows: Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Slack, Stripe, Zoom. Per Meta (29 Sep): nothing publishes, sends or spends without approval; free with limits. Notion + Granola were already live. Still coming: Walmart, Sephora, Expedia, Instacart, Shop Pay, PayPal, glasses, Charm, Muse email, realtime avatar. Amazon still blocked. Skipped: Zapier "9,000 apps" (no Meta source), PSP / Touch Bar hacks, EEVblog order, agent-to-agent coffee date.
02 Oct: Nothing newly shipped — Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, GitHub, Shop Pay, PayPal, Expedia, Instacart are still “adding” / coming soon. Amazon is still blocked. Early access (opened 25 Sep — ask Muse to put you on the list) is a waitlist, not a release. (Update 06 Oct: Box + Shopify are now live via Small Business — see above.)
02 Oct: Marketplace warning — “Allow Always” + a pickup address is not a negotiation policy. Matt Robb handed Muse Marketplace replies, Muse accepted a $100 lowball and sent his Toronto address; a buyer showed up. Verge, 29 Sep.
02 Oct: Drive connector bug report — chats touching Google Drive get interrupted and return nothing. Report. Treating as isolated until more reports land.
01–02 Oct: New use cases — doctor cancellation watch, seen same-day, $85 dental bill disputed to $0. Skipped: reservation-swarm stunts, Din Tai Fung hang-up, and OpenAI Dots ($100/mo business agent — competitor, not a Muse feature).
27 Sep: Add Muse to your Instagram profile — profile badge via + Add your Muse (not a new connector; IG was already linked via Accounts Center). Plus an official prompt: organize your Instagram saved folder.
27 Sep: Replit is live / rolling out — vendor-approved connector: build and deploy apps from a Muse chat. Railway also confirmed live. Trackers now cite 2,000+ submissions, 37 live, 20 announced.
24 Sep: Muse's own email address — so people can add Muse to a thread or forward mail for it to handle. Coming soon.
24 Sep: Muse Charm — pocket/keychain ~2" OLED, fastest way to talk to Muse when not wearing glasses. No price or ship date.
24 Sep: Muse on AI glasses — coming months. Wake by saying the agent's name, act on what you're looking at (shelf, flyer, shopping list). Workout/meals/buy what you see.
23 Sep: Muse Realtime Avatar announced — digital avatar (default: "Jolly") for video chat, built on Muse Realtime Avatar model. Coming months.
23 Sep: Connect announced wave of new connectors (all coming soon): Retail: Walmart, Best Buy, American Eagle, DICK'S, Fanatics, Gap, Michael Kors, Sephora, Ulta, Wayfair · Pay: Shop Pay, PayPal · Travel/local: Expedia, Instacart, Fever, Turo, Viator · Work: GitHub, Box (Notion + Granola already live). 1,500+ connector submissions in under a week; onboarding in waves.
23 Sep: TechCrunch recap. Shipping now: Muse for Mac (.dmg) — control Messages, Calendar, Notes, files, browser tabs; works unattended in the background. Realtime voice — voice you design yourself, conversation stays open. Canada expansion live.
23 Sep: Meta Connect 2026 recap — Muse is Meta's centerpiece. Shipped now: Mac computer use (drives any Mac app, including background), Realtime voice (custom-designed voice, keeps working during conversation — demo clip), Canada live (iOS + web, Android soon).
23 Sep: @Muse announces 4 connectors, all coming soon (not live in Settings yet) — Shopify one-tap checkout / Shop Pay, PayPal agent payments, Expedia hotels, Instacart groceries. 1Password still not in the picker.
22 Sep: Mac zero-day hotfixed — local malware could flip a dictation-endpoint setting and steal the Muse auth token (found by Patrick Wardle). Meta removed the setting ~Tue midnight PT. Local privilege escalation, not remote — Mac users should update to the patched build.
21 Sep: New use cases — Drive + Photos duplicate purge, daycare booking via Bland phone agent, German EV insurance GAP audit.
20–21 Sep: Amazon blocks Muse shopping — amazon.com shows “unauthorized AI agent violates Amazon's Conditions of Use.” Amazon asked Meta to pull it; Meta declined. Browser shopping on Amazon is dead until that changes.
19 Sep: Stripe announces onboarding onto the Muse Connector Platform.
18 Sep: Muse Connector Platform opens for public submissions — first additions: Notion + Granola.
18 Sep: Muse for Mac ships (.dmg): files, Messages, Calendar, Notes, browser tabs.
Sep 2026: Canada expansion: iOS + Web live, Android soon.
Oct 2026: Muse Wonder + Wonder Full top the lineup (API + Muse Code now, consumer Muse soon). Muse Spark 1.3 (1M context) is the previous flagship; Muse Code is out of beta.
Note: Muse and Muse Code both have a plan tier called “Power.” Muse Power is $20/mo (consumer). Muse Code Power is $15/mo (coding).
